عِبَادَة
This verse teaches us to direct our worship and our request for help to Allah alone.
إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
Quran, Al-Faatiha 1:5
In this verse, we address Allah directly. We tell Him that we worship Him alone and that we ask for His help. This combines two ideas: worship and seeking help. We acknowledge that all help comes from Him. In our daily life, we can apply this by starting our actions with a sincere intention to please Allah, then asking for His help. For example, before studying or working, we can say: 'O Allah, help me do my best.'
Today, before a simple task, say inwardly: 'O Allah, I rely on Your help.'
