الْحَقّ
This verse calls us to complete sincerity in our relationship with the truth.
وَلَا تَلۡبِسُواْ ٱلۡحَقَّ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ وَتَكۡتُمُواْ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:42
Allah forbids us from mixing truth with falsehood and from concealing what we know to be true. The previous verse asked us to believe in the revelation and not to betray it for a small price. Here, the emphasis is on integrity: not to distort the truth, even partially, and not to hide it when we know it. In our daily lives, we may be tempted to adjust the truth for our benefit or out of fear. This verse invites us to uprightness: to speak the truth clearly, without mixing it with lies or half-truths, and not to remain silent when it must be said.
Today, identify a situation where you might be tempted to distort or hide a truth, and choose to speak it honestly.
