شُكْر
This verse reminds us that gratitude is a natural response to Allah's blessings.
ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَٰكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَوۡتِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
Then We revived you after your death that perhaps you would be grateful.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:56
In this passage, Allah mentions a moment when the Children of Israel, after asking to see Allah clearly, were struck by lightning. Then He revived them. This return to life is an immense blessing, and Allah states its purpose: that they might be grateful. Gratitude is not just a word, but a response of the heart and actions. Every day, we receive blessings without counting them: health, family, faith. This verse invites us to become aware of these gifts and to respond with gratitude. Being grateful means recognizing Allah's goodness and expressing it concretely.
