ذِكْر
This verse invites us to receive revelation seriously and to keep its memory to become righteous.
خُذُواْ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٖ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ
"Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it, that you may become righteous."
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:63
In this passage, Allah reminds the Children of Israel of His covenant and asks them to take the revelation with determination, then to remember what it contains. The goal is to attain piety. For us, this evokes the importance of not being content with a superficial reading of the Quran. We can receive it seriously and seek to memorize and meditate on its teachings, so that our life is imbued with them.
Today, choose a verse of the Quran you know, read it attentively, and write down one idea you want to remember to put into practice.
