عَفْو
This verse invites us to forgive and overlook offenses, while awaiting Allah's judgment.
فَٱعۡفُواْ وَٱصۡفَحُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۗ
So pardon and overlook until Allah delivers His command.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:109
In this verse, Allah mentions that some People of the Scripture, out of envy, wish to turn believers away from their faith. Despite this, He commands to pardon and overlook, until Allah decides. This forgiveness is not weakness, but trust in divine justice. In our daily lives, we may encounter people who wish us harm or offend us. Instead of responding with resentment, we can choose to forgive and leave judgment to Allah. This frees our hearts and brings us closer to Him.
Today, identify a past offense and sincerely forgive the person in your heart, leaving judgment to Allah.
