بَدِيعُ
This verse reminds us that Allah creates without a model and that His word is enough.
Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:117
Allah is badīʿ: He creates the heavens and the earth without a prior model. Nothing resists Him. When He wills something, He says to it 'Be' and it exists immediately. This verse follows the rejection of the idea that Allah has a child: everything belongs to Him and obeys Him. Reflecting on this power can strengthen our trust in Him. If Allah can create the universe with a word, then nothing is difficult for Him. When facing a difficulty, let us remember that His power is limitless.
Today, take a minute to reflect on the creation around you and say: 'Allah is capable of all things.'
