The Way of Abraham

This verse invites us to reflect on our attitude towards the religion of Abraham.

وَمَن يَرۡغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفۡسَهُۥۚ وَلَقَدِ ٱصۡطَفَيۡنَٰهُ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous.

Quran, Al-Baqara 2:130

The verse links aversion to Abraham's religion with foolishness. It reminds us that Allah chose Abraham in this world and that he will be among the righteous in the Hereafter. The immediate context shows Abraham responding to his Lord's command: "I have submitted to the Lord of the worlds."

Today, we can ask ourselves whether we follow this path of sincere submission. It is not about judging others, but about checking our own attachment to faith.

Take a moment to recite this verse and meditate on Abraham's submission. Then, perform a simple act of submission to Allah, such as a supplication or a voluntary prayer.
