مُخْلِصُونَ
This verse invites us to affirm our sincerity towards Allah.
وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُخۡلِصُونَ
“And we are sincere to Him.”
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:139
In this verse, Allah tells the Prophet to respond to those who argue about Allah. He reminds that Allah is the Lord of all, and that each will be judged by their deeds. Then he affirms: “And we are sincere to Him.” The word “mukhliṣūn” refers to those who are sincere, dedicating their actions and intentions to Allah alone. This sincerity distinguishes us in our daily choices. It invites us to act to please Allah, without seeking to impress others. It can help us decide with clarity and remain steadfast in our efforts.
Today, before acting, ask yourself: “Am I doing this for Allah?” Then perform a simple action with that intention.
