This verse announces great news to those who, in hardship, remember that they belong to Allah.
Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:157
The previous verse describes people who, when struck by calamity, say: "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." This verse responds: they receive blessings and mercy from their Lord, and they are rightly guided. This word of return to Allah is a key to navigating difficulties. It does not remove the pain, but it opens a path of trust and hope.
Today, if a difficulty arises, say inwardly: "We belong to Allah and to Him we return."
