اَلْحَلَال
This verse invites us to choose lawful and pure food, and not to follow the footsteps of Satan.
كُلُواْ مِمَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ حَلَٰلٗا طَيِّبٗا وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
Eat from what is on earth, lawful and good, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:168
Allah addresses all people. He asks them to eat what is lawful and pure. He also warns them not to follow the footsteps of Satan. The next verse clarifies that Satan commands evil and immorality. Here, the verse combines two pieces of advice: choose wholesome food and beware of the enemy. In our daily lives, we can apply this by checking what we eat. Before buying or consuming, we can ask ourselves if it is lawful and pure. This helps us make conscious choices and avoid what is harmful.
Today, before eating, check if the food is lawful and pure.
