حُسۡنَى
This supplication sums up the believer's hope.
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ حَسَنَةٗ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:201
This verse combines two essential requests: good in the present life and good in the life to come. It also associates protection from the Fire. The previous verse shows people who ask only for worldly good, while this one presents a more complete request. In our daily lives, we can make this supplication to balance our aspirations: succeeding in our projects while keeping our salvation in view. It reminds us to entrust everything to Allah.
