الصَّبْر
Facing hardship, the believers turn to Allah with a simple and profound prayer.
رَبَّنَآ أَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرٗا وَثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:250
In this verse, the companions of Saul confront Goliath and his troops. They do not rely on their own strength alone: they call upon Allah to receive patience (as-sabr), firmness, and victory. This prayer combines three essential requests: endurance, stability, and divine support. In our lives, we face challenges that seem too great. Instead of panicking, we can adopt the same attitude: acknowledge our weakness and ask Allah to grant us patience and firmness. It is a call to trust and humility.
Today, before a difficult task, say this supplication: "Rabbi afrigh 'alayna sabran" and ask Allah to grant you patience and victory.
