This verse invites us to spend from our provisions before a day when nothing can save us.
Spend from that which We have provided for you before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange and no friendship and no intercession.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:254
Allah addresses the believers and asks them to spend from what He has given them. This gift can be money, time, or other resources. The verse reminds that a day will come when neither wealth, nor relationships, nor support will be useful. On that day, only our preparation will matter. Today, we still have the opportunity to act. Every sincere expenditure for good is an advance for that day. We can choose to share what we have, even a little, with those in need.
Today, give a small amount or an item to someone in need, or make a donation to a trusted charity.
