طَيِّبَات
This verse invites us to spend from the purest of our possessions.
أَنفِقُواْ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا كَسَبۡتُمۡ
Spend from the good things which you have earned.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:267
Allah asks believers to give from what they have earned lawfully and from the produce of the earth. He forbids giving defective or bad things, which we ourselves would only accept reluctantly. Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. In our daily lives, this means offering others what we would like for ourselves, whether food, clothes, or time. Giving the best reflects sincere gratitude and respect for the recipient.
Today, pick an item in good condition (clothing, book, food) and give it to someone in need.
