حِكْمَة
This verse reminds us that wisdom is a precious gift that Allah grants to whom He wills.
يُؤۡتِي ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن يُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِيَ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا
He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:269
In this verse, Allah states that He gives wisdom to whom He wills. Receiving wisdom is receiving a great good. This gift surpasses material wealth. It enlightens the heart and mind to discern truth from falsehood. We can ask Allah for this wisdom in our prayers and supplications. We can also seek it by listening to useful advice and reflecting on what we learn. Wisdom helps us make good choices in daily life.
Today, before making a decision, even a small one, take a moment to ask Allah to grant you wisdom.
