This verse teaches us the value of giving charity discreetly to the poor.
But if you conceal it and give it to the poor, it is better for you, and it will remove from you some of your misdeeds.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:271
The verse compares two ways of giving: openly or secretly. It states that hidden charity is better for the believer. Moreover, it erases some sins. Allah is fully aware of what we do. In our daily lives, we can choose to give without seeking attention. It can be a modest donation, but given sincerely for Allah. Discretion helps us avoid showing off and stay humble.
Today, give a small amount or an item to someone in need, without telling anyone.
