ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ
This verse invites us to purify our spending by seeking only Allah's pleasure.
وَمَا تُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِۚ
And you do not spend except seeking the countenance of Allah.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:272
In this verse, Allah reminds us that any spending done solely for His sake is a good deed. It is not about showing off or expecting something in return from people, but about turning to Allah with sincerity. In our daily lives, we can apply this by giving discreetly, without seeking attention. Whether it is helping a relative or donating to a charity, the intention matters more than the amount.
Today, make a discreet donation, even a small one, while saying to yourself: 'I do this for Allah alone.'
