صَدَقَات
This verse contrasts two realities: usury that destroys and charity that multiplies.
يَمۡحَقُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ وَيُرۡبِي ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِۗ
Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities.
Quran, Al-Baqara 2:276
In this verse, Allah states that He destroys usury, while He makes charities grow. The previous verse forbids usury and permits trade. Here, Allah shows that sincere generosity is never lost: He increases it. The next verse links faith, good deeds, prayer, and zakah to a reward from God. In our daily lives, we may hesitate to give, thinking we lose something. This verse invites us to trust Allah: what we give for Him is not lost, but He makes it grow. This encourages us to give with our hearts, without expecting an immediate return.
Today, give a small charity (even a coin) to someone in need, thinking that Allah will make it grow.
