تَقْوَى
This verse challenges those who distort the truth knowingly.
لِمَ تَلۡبِسُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ وَتَكۡتُمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know it?
Quran, Al-Imran 3:71
The verse addresses the People of the Book. It reproaches them for mixing truth with falsehood and hiding the truth while they know it. The context shows they doubt Allah's signs and try to turn believers away. This attitude is contrary to sincerity. In our lives, we may be tempted to distort reality for our own benefit. Sincerity requires us to recognize the truth and speak it, even when it is uncomfortable.
Today, identify a situation where you might be tempted to distort the truth, and choose to speak the truth clearly.
