ربانيون
This verse calls those who teach and study the Book to become devout scholars.
وَلَٰكِن كُونُواْ رَبَّـٰنِيِّـۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَدۡرُسُونَ
But be pious scholars, because you teach the Book and you study it.
Quran, Al-Imran 3:79
The verse clarifies that a prophet never asks people to worship him. Instead, he calls them to be rabbāniyyūn, that is, people devoted to Allah through knowledge and practice. This term combines teaching the Book and studying it diligently. Today, everyone can embody this quality by learning the Quran and sharing it kindly.
