تقوى
This verse calls believers to a sincere and constant piety.
ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ
Fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
Quran, Al-Imran 3:102
The verse addresses those who believe. It asks them to fear Allah as He should be feared. This fear is a sincere piety. It must accompany the whole of life. The verse adds: do not die except in full submission. This means remaining submitted to Allah until the very last moment. In daily life, this piety can remind us to stay faithful to our commitments to Allah. For example, in our choices and words, we can seek to please Him. This constant attention helps us live in coherence with our faith.
Today, before any important action, ask yourself: can I do this while remaining submitted to Allah?
