جَزَاء
This verse describes the reward of those who repent and do not persist in wrongdoing.
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡ وَجَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۚ وَنِعۡمَ أَجۡرُ ٱلۡعَٰمِلِينَ
Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.
Quran, Al-Imran 3:136
The previous verse speaks of people who, after committing a sin, remember Allah, seek forgiveness, and do not persist in their error. Here, Allah promises them a magnificent reward: forgiveness and eternal gardens. The word 'jazā'' means reward, and this reward is proportionate to divine mercy. This text teaches us that Allah's forgiveness is immense. Even after a fault, hope remains if one turns sincerely to Him. Today, we can meditate on this promise and draw great hope from it.
Today, reflect on a past mistake and sincerely ask Allah for forgiveness, remembering this promise of reward.
