Allah's Forgiveness After a Mistake

This verse reminds us that Allah forgives those who fall short, even after a serious error.

وَلَقَدۡ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٞ

But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

Quran, Al-Imran 3:155

The verse refers to those who turned back on the day the two armies met. Their retreat is attributed to Satan, because of some deeds they had earned. Yet, Allah has forgiven them. He is Forgiving and Forbearing.

This passage teaches that no one should despair of Allah's mercy. Even after a mistake, one can return to Him sincerely. His forgiveness is vast and His forbearance is great.
