رِضْوَان
This verse contrasts two attitudes: pursuing Allah's pleasure or incurring His wrath.
أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضۡوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ
Is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah?
Quran, Al-Imran 3:162
Verse 3:162 poses a rhetorical question. It does not equate two different people. It shows that seeking Allah's pleasure and incurring His wrath are opposite paths. The next verse clarifies that people have varying degrees with Allah, who sees all they do. In our daily lives, every choice can bring us closer to Allah's pleasure or distance us from it. Sometimes desire or anger pushes us toward what displeases Him. But we can choose the path of sincerity and righteousness, hoping to attain His contentment.
Today, before acting, ask yourself: 'Does this bring me closer to Allah's pleasure?' Then perform a sincere action accordingly.
