دَرَجَات
This verse reminds us that our actions determine our rank with Allah.
هُمۡ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
They have degrees with Allah, and Allah sees well what they do.
Quran, Al-Imran 3:163
The verse brings together two ideas: people have different degrees with Allah, and Allah sees everything they do. These degrees are not given randomly; they are linked to our deeds. The previous verse contrasts the one who follows Allah's pleasure with the one who incurs His wrath. Here, we understand that our choices matter. In our daily life, every action is an opportunity to aim for a higher degree. We do not know where we stand, but we can act with sincerity and consistency. Allah sees our efforts, even the most discreet ones.
Today, do a good deed in secret, like helping someone without them knowing, thinking that Allah sees it.
