صَبْر
This verse teaches us how to respond to trials and hurtful words.
وَإِن تَصۡبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ
But if you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination.
Quran, Al-Imran 3:186
The verse announces that we will be tested in our wealth and ourselves, and that we will hear much abuse. It associates two qualities: patience and piety. It presents them as a firm and excellent resolution. In our daily lives, we may face criticism or injustice. Instead of reacting with anger, we can choose patience and remain conscious of Allah. This attitude is presented as the best decision.
Today, if someone hurts you with their words, respond with silence or a kind word, remaining patient and conscious of Allah.
