مَعْرُوف
This verse teaches us to be generous and kind to those present at the division of an inheritance.
فَٱرۡزُقُوهُم مِّنۡهُ وَقُولُواْ لَهُمۡ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗا
Provide for them something from it and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.
Quran, An-Nisa 4:8
During the division of an inheritance, relatives, orphans, or the needy may be present. The verse asks to give them a share and to address them with kind words. This combines material generosity and kindness in speech. In our daily lives, we can apply this by sharing our resources with those in need and speaking to them with respect and gentleness, even if we cannot give much.
Today, if you share something (meal, time, money), give a small portion to a person in need and speak to them with kind words.
