The Fire of Injustice

This verse warns us against injustice towards orphans.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأۡكُلُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ ظُلۡمًا إِنَّمَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ نَارٗاۖ وَسَيَصۡلَوۡنَ سَعِيرٗا

Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a Blaze.

Quran, An-Nisa 4:10

This verse combines two powerful images: consuming orphans' property unjustly is like swallowing fire, and it leads to the fire of Hell. It is not just a prohibition, but a striking description of the gravity of this act.

In our daily lives, this reminds us to check our transactions and words. Before acting, let us ask ourselves: am I respecting the rights of others, especially the most vulnerable?
