This verse shows how to return to Allah after a mistake.
If they had come to you, asking forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
Quran, An-Nisa 4:64
The verse mentions people who wronged themselves. They are advised to come to the Messenger, ask Allah's forgiveness, and ask the Messenger to pray for them. If they did, they would find Allah tawwāb (Accepting of repentance) and raḥīm (Merciful). Today, we cannot physically go to the Prophet ﷺ. But we can follow the spirit of this verse: acknowledge our wrong, turn sincerely to Allah, and ask His forgiveness. Allah is always ready to accept repentance.
Today, after each prayer, say 'Astaghfirullah' (I seek Allah's forgiveness) at least three times, thinking of a specific mistake and resolving not to repeat it.
