تَوَكُّل
Faced with hypocrisy, the Prophet ﷺ receives a clear command: turn away and put your trust in Allah.
فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا
“So leave them alone and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.”
Quran, An-Nisa 4:81
This verse speaks of people who pledge obedience but, once they leave, plot otherwise. Allah knows what they scheme. The Prophet ﷺ is not to exhaust himself chasing them: he is told to turn away from them and rely on Allah. In our lives, we sometimes meet unreliable people. Instead of letting anger or distrust consume us, we can follow this example: entrust the situation to Allah, who sees everything and suffices as Protector.
Today, if someone disappoints you, say inwardly: “I rely on Allah” and move on.
