شَفَاعَة
This verse teaches us that every intercession carries weight, whether good or bad.
مَّن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةً حَسَنَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٞ مِّنۡهَاۖ وَمَن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةٗ سَيِّئَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفۡلٞ مِّنۡهَاۗ
Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a reward therefrom; and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a burden therefrom.
Quran, An-Nisa 4:85
The verse associates each intercession with a consequence: a good deed brings a share of reward, an evil deed brings a share of burden. It does not specify the nature of that share, but it emphasizes that our efforts on behalf of others are never neutral. In our daily lives, we may be asked to recommend someone, support a cause, or facilitate a matter. Each time, we have the choice to contribute to good or evil. This verse invites us to weigh our acts of intercession carefully.
Today, sincerely recommend someone for a just cause, or actively support a beneficial initiative.
