عَفُوّ
This verse gives hope of forgiveness to those who are unable to act.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورٗا
And Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving.
Quran, An-Nisa 4:99
The verse speaks of weak people, men, women, and children, who cannot devise a plan nor find a way. For them, it is expected that Allah will pardon them. The verse associates two divine attributes: He is Pardoning (ʿafuww) and Forgiving (ghafūr). In our lives, we may feel helpless regarding our mistakes or difficulties. This verse reminds us that weakness does not prevent Allah's forgiveness. So we can ask His forgiveness with confidence, even when we cannot make amends.
Today, take a moment to say: 'O Allah, You are Pardoning, forgive me' and think of a fault you cannot repair, trusting in His mercy.
