مُحِيط
This verse reminds us that nothing we do escapes Allah's knowledge.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا
And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing.
Quran, An-Nisa 4:108
The verse speaks of people who hide their bad deeds from others but forget that Allah is with them by His knowledge. Even when they say at night words that Allah does not accept, He encompasses them with His knowledge. The word 'muḥīṭ' means that Allah encompasses everything we do. In our daily lives, we may be tempted to do things in secret, thinking no one sees us. But Allah knows everything. This awareness can help us act righteously, even when no one is watching.
Before acting in secret today, ask yourself: 'Would I be comfortable if Allah knew?' Then choose a righteous action.
