The Best of Decisions

This verse invites us to prefer Allah's judgment over any other decision.

وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكۡمٗا لِّقَوۡمٖ يُوقِنُونَ

Who is better than Allah in judgment for a people who are certain?

Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:50

In this verse, Allah asks: who can judge better than Him? For those who firmly believe, the answer is obvious: no one. The previous verse reminds us to judge by what Allah has revealed and not to follow desires. Here, Allah contrasts His judgment with that of ignorance, and affirms that His is superior.

In our daily lives, we make many decisions. This verse encourages us to seek Allah's guidance, for example in the Quran, before choosing. This brings us peace and confidence, knowing that His choice is always the best.
