الْحَقّ
When the truth of the Quran touches the heart, it shows in tears and sincere faith.
مِمَّا عَرَفُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ
because they have recognized the truth
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:83
In this verse, Allah describes sincere believers who, upon hearing the Quran, have their eyes overflowing with tears. Their emotion comes from recognizing the truth (al-ḥaqq) in the revelation. They do not just listen; they respond with faith and ask to be registered among the witnesses. Today, we can cultivate this same sensitivity. When we read or listen to the Quran, let us take time to let the truth reach us. Tears are not necessary, but our heart must be open to recognize what is true and respond to it.
Today, listen attentively to a short passage of the Quran and note a truth that touches your heart, then make a brief prayer asking Allah to register you among the witnesses of the truth.
