This verse invites us to eat from what Allah has provided, while respecting His law and fearing Him.
And eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers.
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:88
The verse combines two attitudes: eating what Allah has made lawful and good, and fearing Him. It reminds us that our food is a gift from Allah, and we should use it with gratitude and obedience. In daily life, this means choosing permissible and healthy foods, and remembering that Allah sees us. Fearing Allah helps us stay on the right path.
Before eating today, take a moment to thank Allah for this meal and choose a healthy and lawful food.
