This verse reveals Satan's hidden goal behind certain pleasures.
Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:91
This verse teaches us that Satan seeks to sow enmity and hatred among people, using means like alcohol and gambling. He also wants to turn us away from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. The verse ends with a question: 'So will you not desist?' In our daily lives, we can recognize these traps. By avoiding what harms our relationships and our connection with Allah, we regain control. Every time we choose prayer and remembrance, we counter Satan's plan.
Today, before you sleep, reflect on a habit that might sow discord or distance you from Allah, and decide to stay away from it.
