عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ
This verse reminds us that each person is responsible for their own guidance.
عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡ
Upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves!
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:105
Allah addresses the believers: "Upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves!" This means our priority is to watch over our own faith and actions. The verse adds that those who go astray will not harm us if we follow the right path. It is not about ignoring others, but about not being led astray by their mistakes. In our daily lives, we can be influenced by the behavior of others. This verse invites us to focus on our own improvement rather than judging or following bad examples. Everyone will account to Allah for their deeds.
Today, choose a concrete action to improve your faith, such as reading a passage of the Quran or performing an extra prayer, and do it sincerely.
