إِخْلَاص
This verse teaches us sincerity in our words and actions.
مَا قُلۡتُ لَهُمۡ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرۡتَنِي بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمۡ
I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:117
In this verse, Jesus (peace be upon him) affirms that he only spoke to the people according to what Allah commanded him. He did not add anything of his own. This shows the importance of sincerity: to say and do only what Allah has commanded. In our daily lives, we can apply this by checking that our words and actions are in line with the teachings of the Quran. This helps us stay honest and upright.
Today, before speaking or acting, ask yourself: did Allah command this? If yes, do it with sincerity.
