مَغْفِرَة
In this verse, Jesus entrusts the fate of his disciples to Allah, acknowledging His might and wisdom.
وَإِن تَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
But if You forgive them, indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:118
Jesus does not decide the fate of his disciples. He leaves it entirely to Allah. He acknowledges that Allah is the Mighty and the Wise. His forgiveness and His punishment are both based on wisdom. We can imitate this trust. Instead of trying to control the fate of others, we can entrust them to Allah. He alone knows what is just and good.
Today, when you think of someone who has wronged you, say in your heart: "I entrust their fate to Allah, the Mighty, the Wise."
