صِدْق
This verse teaches us that truthfulness will carry great weight on the Day of Judgment.
يَوۡمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ صِدۡقُهُمۡ
“the Day when their truthfulness will benefit the truthful”
Quran, Al-Ma'ida 5:119
In this verse, Allah announces that on the Last Day, the truthfulness of the believers will benefit them. He associates this quality with the reward of gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. Allah is pleased with them and they with Him: that is the great attainment. This verse encourages us to cultivate truthfulness in our words and actions. Being sincere with Allah and with others is a quality that leads to His pleasure. Today, we can take a concrete step toward this sincerity.
Today, before speaking, ask yourself if your words are true and beneficial. If not, choose to remain silent or to speak the truth with kindness.
