سَكَن
This verse invites us to recognize Allah's wisdom in the alternation of day and night.
وَجَعَلَ ٱلَّيۡلَ سَكَنٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ حُسۡبَانٗا
He made the night for rest and the sun and moon for calculation.
Quran, Al-An'aam 6:96
Allah, who cleaves the dawn, made the night a time of calm and sleep. He also created the sun and the moon to measure time. These signs show His precise order and infinite knowledge. When we rest at night or check a calendar, we benefit from these blessings without thinking. Becoming aware of these gifts fills us with gratitude towards Allah.
Before sleeping tonight, thank Allah for the rest of the night and for the cycle of day and night.
