آيَات
This verse invites us to contemplate the growth of plants as a sign from Allah.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مِنۡهُ خَضِرٗا نُّخۡرِجُ مِنۡهُ حَبّٗا مُّتَرَاكِبٗا وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخۡلِ مِن طَلۡعِهَا قِنۡوَانٞ دَانِيَةٞ وَجَنَّـٰتٖ مِّنۡ أَعۡنَابٖ وَٱلزَّيۡتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشۡتَبِهٗا وَغَيۡرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍۗ ٱنظُرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثۡمَرَ وَيَنۡعِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكُمۡ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things... Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
Quran, Al-An'aam 6:99
Allah sends down rain, and the earth then produces plants, grains, dates, grapes, olives, and pomegranates. These fruits, similar or different, are signs for the believers. The verse asks us to observe them. Today, we can look at a fruit with attention. Its growth, its color, its taste: all of this reminds us of Allah's power and goodness. This contemplation nourishes gratitude in our hearts.
Take a fruit (a date, a grape, an olive) and observe it for a few moments. Thank Allah for this sign.
