لا تسبوا
This verse teaches us to avoid insulting what others invoke, so as not to provoke a reaction contrary to reason.
وَلَا تَسُبُّواْ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ
And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah.
Quran, Al-An'aam 6:108
The verse forbids insulting the deities or objects of worship of others. The reason is clear: it could push them, in reaction, to insult Allah without knowledge. Thus, the believer must control his tongue so as not to be the cause of such blasphemy. In our daily life, we may meet people who criticize our beliefs. This verse invites us to respond with wisdom and restraint, avoiding any hurtful words that could worsen the situation.
Today, if someone criticizes your faith, respond with a kind word or remain silent, without insulting back.
