Degrees According to Our Deeds

This verse reminds us that our actions determine our ranks with Allah.

وَلِكُلّٖ دَرَجَٰتٞ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ

For all are degrees from what they have done, and your Lord is not unaware of what they do.

Quran, Al-An'aam 6:132

Verse 132 of Surah Al-An'am states that each person will receive degrees based on their deeds. It is not an arbitrary ranking but a just recompense. The previous verse shows that Allah does not destroy unjustly, and the next reminds us that He is Self-Sufficient and Merciful. Thus, our actions have real weight.

In our daily lives, we may feel insignificant, but this verse assures us that nothing is lost. Every effort counts, even modest ones. Allah observes everything without negligence. This encourages us to act with sincerity and consistency, without seeking the recognition of others.

Today, perform a discreet good deed, such as helping someone or making an extra prayer, remembering that Allah sees it and will reward it.
