إِخْلَاص
This verse invites us to dedicate our entire existence to Allah.
قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحۡيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Say: "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds."
Quran, Al-An'aam 6:162
In this verse, Allah teaches the Prophet ﷺ what to say. It brings together prayer, sacrifices, life, and death. All of these belong to Allah alone. The previous verse speaks of the straight path of Abraham. The next affirms that Allah has no partner. Thus, our intention must be pure for Him. Before every action, we can check our intention. Why are we doing it? To please Allah or for other reasons? This check helps us live with sincerity.
Before your next action, ask yourself: "Am I doing this for Allah?"
