A Trustworthy Adviser

The messenger affirms that he conveys his Lord's messages with sincerity and trustworthiness.

وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمۡ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ

and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.

Quran, Al-A'raf 7:68

In this verse, the messenger combines two essential qualities: he faithfully conveys the messages of his Lord, and he presents himself as a sincere and trustworthy adviser. This dual attitude shows that sincerity (an-nuṣḥ) is not limited to words but is embodied in upright conduct.

In our daily lives, we can embody this sincerity by advising others with kindness, without ulterior motives, and by ensuring that our words are trustworthy.

Today, before giving advice to someone, ask yourself if you are sincere and trustworthy, then phrase it with kindness.
