إِنَابَة
Facing a threat, the believers answer with a comforting certainty.
إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
“Indeed, to our Lord we will return.”
Quran, Al-A'raf 7:125
In this verse, believers threatened with death affirm their faith: they know their final return is to Allah. This certainty turns their fear into serenity. The previous verse shows the threat, the next asks for patience and submission. Thus, accepting the return to Allah is linked to patience and submission. In our lives, we face difficulties. We can turn to Allah, entrust Him with our sorrows and hopes. This orientation of the heart is called ināba: returning to Him in every circumstance.
Today, take a minute to say: “O Allah, I turn to You.”
