صَبْر
The patience of the oppressed leads to the fulfillment of divine promises.
وَتَمَّتۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُواْ
And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured.
Quran, Al-A'raf 7:137
This verse follows the drowning of Pharaoh and his army. It shows that the Children of Israel, once oppressed, inherited the blessed lands. Their patience is cited as the reason for the fulfillment of the divine promise. In our lives, patience is not passive. It is an active trust in Allah. When we endure with constancy, we let Allah act. Today, we can practice this patience in a specific situation.
Identify a current difficulty and decide to be patient until this evening without complaining, trusting in Allah.
