يَرْحَمْنَا
After their fault, the people of Moses recognize their error and implore Allah's mercy.
لَئِن لَّمۡ يَرۡحَمۡنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
"If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers."
Quran, Al-A'raf 7:149
This verse shows people who have just committed a serious mistake. They realize their error and express deep regret. They do not make excuses but turn to Allah with humility. They acknowledge that without His mercy and forgiveness, they would be losers. We too, after a fault, can follow this example. Instead of remaining in guilt, we can turn to Allah, admit our mistake, and ask for His forgiveness. This is a path of return and hope.
Today, after each prayer, ask Allah to forgive you and have mercy on you, thinking of a specific mistake.
